I could seriously write a book when it comes to essential oils and sinus problems. We are only going to touch on a few in this post and touch on a few more at a later date. Let’s get you through cold and flu season!
Sinusitis tis the season to suffer! I love a good steam inhalation for sinusitis, seems to soothe the sinus cavities that become inflamed with sinusitis.
2 Drops Thyme Oil
3 Drops Peppermint Oil
3 Drops Rosemary Oil
2 Drops Eucalyptus Oil
3 Drops Peppermint Oil
3 Drops Rosemary Oil
2 Drops Eucalyptus Oil
If you don’t have a diffuser, that’s okay you can use a vaporizer or a humidifier I just suggest adding a good antibacterial essential oil, such as lemon. But remember these devices are much bigger so you will want to use more essential oils.
Stuffy Noses
Take a long hot bath, on a sponge simply place about 10 drops of one or a combo of these essential oils lavender, peppermint, cinnamon, tea tree, eucalyptus, and juniper. Be careful with the amount of peppermint you use, stay under a few drops at it has the effect of leaving you to feel cold in a hot bath.
More Essential Oil
Menthol essential oils help soothe and open up sinus cavities.
Lemon essential oil is a great antibacterial, helps with anti-inflammatory which helps with sinusitis.
Frankincense essential oil helps relax the lungs and all around helps improve breathing.

Essential Oils and High Blood Pressure
Essential Oils and High Blood Pressure
Let's take a basic look at what high blood pressure is first. High blood pressure is when pressure is on the arteries and the blood vessels become too high and the arterial wall distorts causing stress on the heart.
When people let their blood pressure go without some treatment, they become at risk for heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and more. Sadly, many people do not even realize they suffer from high blood pressure until a serious problem shows up.
Rose essential oil has a wonderful ability to increase blood circulation. Which can help lower high blood pressure.
Lemon essential oil has so many wonderful properties! Lemon balm essential oil decreases blood pressure, helps with heart palpitations, tachycardia, and even lessons risks of heart attack. It also restores balance to emotions, increases mood and has strong antidepressant properties.
Bergamot essential oil has had studies shown that when diffused or inhaled for 15-60 minutes that it can reduce high blood pressure. Add in Ylang Ylang essential oil, and together these have shown to reduce high blood pressure but also cortisol levels.
This list is not meant to be a complete list, but to help you get started.
Marjoram essential oils have been used in traditional Moroccan medicine as a natural approach to treating hypertension for years. Studies have shown Marjoram essential oil helps reduce myocardial oxidative stress.

Migraines and Essential Oils
Migraines and Essential Oils
One of the best ways to find the essential oil that will help your migraines is to find your triggers or what symptoms are causing them.
For example, if your migraines are brought on by inflammation a good essential oil to you would be Helichrysum. This essential oil is widely known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
If your migraines are brought on by sinus pressure, Eucalyptus essential oil is a perfect choice. It works as an anti-inflammatory as well as an expectorant.
Lavender essential oil works for migraines by reducing inflammatory response along with acting as a sedative due to the high percentage of esters (Linalyl acetate). Roman Chamomile essential oil works in the same way.
Peppermint essential oil is wonderful for tension-type migraines. It helps ease the tension and works wonders on muscular aches and pains. Mixed with a carrier oil and rubbed on the back of the neck can work wonders.
Stress is a major trigger for migraines if migraines are brought on by stress. I love the blend Stress from barefut!
I typically mix 10 to 12 drops of my chosen essential oil into 1 ounce of carrier oil, and place into a glass amber roller bottle and apply to the back of the neck, temples, and forehead and gently massage it in. I do however only use 4 drops if using Peppermint. Whats great about essential oils you are not just limited to using one but can make custom blends to suit your needs.

Bursitis and Essential Oils
Bursitis and Essential Oils
Bursitis is inflammation that results to the bursa! What we want to look at are essential oils that are commonly known to have anti-inflammatory effects and pain relieving effects.
Two essential oils I like to use for anti-inflammatory and pain relief are Helichrysum and German Chamomile. If I am especially in pain I like to use an essential oil that is known for “heating” effects such as ginger, peppermint, or marjoram.
Castor oil is the perfect carrier to oil to use with the above essential oils. As Castor oil has been known to help with soft tissue injuries.
